Blackle

Would you like to save energy while searching the web? Do you feel as though your small contributions to this world are not helping the global crisis? Well, the clever people at Heap Media created an alternative version to Google with a black interface which can reduce the amount of energy required compared to the classic white display. Please continue reading and use Blackle to help reduce the amount of energy being used. Power plants and hydroelectric dams hurt the environment - where do the fish go to spawn when the river has been blocked with a 726.4 foot wall of concrete?

City Life

Well... my life has gone from 0-60 in 14.0 months since the last time I posted a blog. I recently moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in Remote Sensing and things are going well. On Friday my company went to see Daft Punk at the Greek Theater in Berkeley. The stage set-up was incredible! The duo appeared in a triangular shaped booth with their mixing equipment. The bottom of the triangle housed two custom high definition screens beaming pictures and patterns all night long. The fog rolled into Berkeley during the concert which produced an amazing light environment - the screens were super impressive with an insane refresh rate. Most of my co-workers are involved with bands or music production and could appreciate the masterminds behind the robot masks.

On Saturday morning we ha
d an epic ride up Mt. Tam and climbed above the inversion layer. My friend Angelo and I rode through the fog along the ridge and battled the high winds across the Golden Gate Bridge. Once above the layer we were greeted with 80 degree temperature and a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean from the East Peak summit.

The cyclocross season is getting closer and the miles are beginning to build in the legs. I gained a few pounds since my return to the U.S. and will need to shed t
he pounds before September - cross your fingers... no pun intended.

Did anyone watch the Tour de France?
